5 Tips to Incorporate More Exercise Into Your Life

Exercising is hard. Who has time to go to the gym three or four times a week? When you’re as busy as I am, it can seem nearly impossible to get exercise into your daily routine. Fortunately, there are things you can do to incorporate more exercise into your life as you live it already.

1. Park farther away

When you park farther away from work or the grocery store, that forces you to walk more to get wherever you are trying to go. Getting more walking time into your day is a great way to incorporate more movement into your routines in a small way that will add up.

2. Take the stairs instead of the elevator

Obviously, if you work in a high-rise on the 80th floor, this isn’t going to be something you can do. However, if you work on the second floor, you should be taking the stairs. If you are at the mall, try taking the stairs instead of the escalator.

3. Go for little walks every two hours at work

When you are at work, take a break every two hours and go for a ten-minute walk in your office, around your office, or down the street. Not only will it get you moving more, but it will give you a much-needed break from sitting down and staring at your computer screen.

4. Do crunches before bed

Even if you just do 20 or 30 crunches before bed, it will add up. It’s easy to do something that takes such a small amount of time. Get in little exercises where you can.

5. Dance around by yourself

When was the last time you danced around in your house by yourself? How much fun is it? It can also be a great way to exercise. Don’t forget to try little things like this!
